In math, we will be discovering how addition and subtraction are related. I'm hoping to start doing some digging around in the dirt with the kids so we can start looking at rocks for science and in social studies we are going to be talking about the past, present and future. I haven't told the kids yet, but I'm gonna bring in some baby pictures of me for them to see!

Working Together

Here are a few pictures I snapped a while ago of some group work. I'm really proud of this class! They treat each other well and work together nicely!

This week....

We played around with our number grids today and learned that to find 1 more or 1 less than a number all you have to do is move from side to side. We also learned that to find 10 more or 10 less than a number you move up and down.
Later on this week in math we will be learning about all the complements and combinations of 10. We have already learned how to add 0,1, and 2 and our doubles and near double facts! We are well on our way to becoming great mathematicians!
